 Mission Statement:
"To inspire island residents to enjoy and respect the marine environment and to participate more fully in the marine economy
by exploring careers in marine related fields." Goals:
- To work in conjunction with the America's Cup campaign to shine the spotlight on the islands' greatest resource, the waters surrounding us.
- To encourage the local population to explore the recreational and vocational opportunities available within the marine environment.
- Programs to accomplish our mission include:
- Slide presentations at schools, civic organizations, and churches
- Water fun days at beaches throughout the Virgin Islands
- Education and awareness campaigns
- Recognition of individuals who are successful in marine sports and careers
- Training locals to become swimming and sailing instructors
- Learn to swim programs
- Learn to sail programs
